2026 Membership Dues - Please pay by February 15th
Support our organization this year by joining or renewing your membership before February 15th. Membership benefits include discounted rates at workshops and meetings, being added to our mailing list so you receive our bi-annual newsletter and notifications of any upcoming events, and being able to vote in our upcoming officer elections. Membership funds also help us bring in world-renowned experts for our taxonomy workshops.

2026 Spring Freshwater Taxonomy Workshop

Location: University of Florida, Department of Entomology & Nematology Building, Bldg. 970 Topic: Hirudinida - Leeches Presenter: Dr. Fredric Govedich, Southern Utah University We are pleased to announce that this year's spring freshwater taxonomy workshop will be led by Dr. Fredric Govedich from Southern Utah University on the Hirudinida of Florida and North America. Dr. Govedich will be providing an overview of the biology and taxonomy of aquatic Hirudinida. The workshop will consist of lectures, lab time for looking at specimens and a field collecting trip to a local waterbody. Please see the announcement for additional details. Accommodations: A block of rooms have been reserved at the Hampton Inn Gainesville for $139/night. Please click on the 2026 Leech Workshop link to reserve your room. The block of rooms will expire on April 20. Cost & Student Travel Awards: Workshop costs are: $70 for FAB members $125 for non-members $45 for students Student travel awards are also offered. Please see our Student Travel Award page for more details and to apply. The deadline to apply for student travel awards is March 27.
